The beginnings of the Wine Biotechnology Group are linked to the initial research in Oenology in the 1990s in the University Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, at the same time that the first studies of Oenology. The first works on the microorganisms of wine -yeasts and lactic bacteria- were coordinated respectively by professors Albert Mas and Albert Bordons.
The group members belong to the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (DBB, click here for more info) and they are in the Faculty of Oenology (FE, click here) at the Campus Sescelades of the University Rovira i Virgili (URV, click here) in Tarragona.
